Hogs Make History! Record-Breaking First Round in MLB Draft

Northwest Arkansas is celebrating a historic moment after the University of Arkansas baseball program saw a program-record four players selected in the first round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday night. This remarkable achievement showcases the incredible talent cultivated right here in our backyard. The Los Angeles Dodgers made a significant investment in Razorback talent, selecting both pitcher Zach Root and infielder Charles Davalan.

Not to be outdone, the Baltimore Orioles picked up standout shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, and the Philadelphia Phillies snagged pitcher Gage Wood, whose historic no-hitter cleats are already ticketed for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. It’s a massive win for the university and the Razorback Baseball Program.
